WELCOME to the website of the San Juan County Democrats!
We invite you to browse our website and hope you find something that helps inspire your political spirit. 2012 is going to be an exciting year, and we look forward to putting good people into political offices at the local, state, and national levels who share our values. We support progressive principles and candidates in San Juan County, people who believe in social justice, environmental protection, economic opportunity, and equal rights for all.
We encourage all Members to join us at our quarterly meetings, generally held in Friday Harbor. Our next meeting will be held on Saturday, July 14, at a time and location to be announced later. All Members have voice and vote at our meetings, so come get involved. We encourage San Juan County residents to join us in local civic engagement. Remember, the island you save may be your own!

“There are three critical ingredients to democratic renewal and progressive change in America: good public policy, grassroots organizing, and electoral politics. Good public policy provides direction and an agenda for action; grassroots organizing builds a constituency for change; and electoral politics is the main way we contest for power and hold decision makers accountable.”
If we don’t fight hard enough for the things we stand for, at some point we have to recognize that we don’t really stand for them.”
