PATTY MURRAY CAMPAIGN

Thursday, December 3rd, 2009

Friends,

When you’re Governor, you know you can’t accomplish everything you want on your own.

It takes a lot of teamwork to get things done – from dedicated supporters like you, a talented staff, hard-working legislators, and committed Congressional leaders fighting for our state in Washington, DC.

That’s why Washington state is so lucky to have Senator Patty Murray. She’s always there, every day, fighting for us on the floor of the United States Senate.

Now it’s up to you and me to keep her there for six more years.

Contribute to Patty Murray’s campaign today – and help her get her 2010 re-election campaign off to a strong start!

Whenever I need help or advice, Patty Murray is only a phone call away. She’s a valuable ally and partner as we work to move our state forward.

After all, Patty Murray shares our priorities: Strengthening our economy, creating jobs, improving education, fixing our broken health care system, developing new sources of clean energy that will preserve our environment.

And there’s certainly no better advocate for our veterans and military personnel than Patty Murray.

It’s so important that we re-elect Patty Murray to the U.S. Senate in 2010 – and to do that, we need to make sure we help her get her campaign off to a strong start, right now.

Contribute to Patty Murray’s campaign today – so she can keep fighting for us in the U.S. Senate for six more years!

We know that the Republican Party will do everything they can to try to beat Patty in 2010.

These midterm elections can be unpredictable – especially the midterm elections in a new President’s first term – so we can’t take anything for granted.

Patty Murray is just too valuable for Washington state to lose her. So join me in supporting our friend and Senator, Patty Murray, right now.

Contribute to Patty’s campaign today – and let’s lead her to victory in 2010!

Thank you,

Chris Gregoire
Governor

NOAA MOVES TO BELLINGHAM

Bellingham stands strong to win NOAA relocation
Wednesday, December 02 2009
OLYMPIA - A federal oversight office sustained the appeal by the Port of Bellingham over the National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration’s (NOAA) decision to move its Marine Operations Center from Lake Union in Seattle to Newport, Oregon. Sen. Kevin Ranker, D-San Juan Island, and Bellingham Mayor Dan Pike congratulated the Port on its victory.
“The ruling on the appeal shows we were correct in appealing the Newport selection, and we are very pleased that the City, the Port and the State were able to work together in demonstrating that Bellingham was the only site that will serve needs of NOAA as they move from Lake Union,” Ranker said.
Bellingham is now the last of the original applicants for NOAA’s relocation. The Government Accounting Office (GAO) ruling disqualified Newport for placing their site within a floodplain. With no other applications appealing the original decision and Newport’s disqualification, Bellingham stands strong to win NOAA’s relocation.
“Today’s decision confirms the belief we had when we were urging the Port to appeal this process, due to the flaws in the selection process,” said Mayor Dan Pike. “We remain committed to the belief that Bellingham makes the most sense for NOAA’s North Pacific Fleet, our state, and our nation.”
